The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant III to join our team in Honduras. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing advanced accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.
We are looking for a proactive, communicative candidate with excellent knowledge of Excel and Gsheets, analytical thinking, and a willingness to work under pressure and time limits.
What You’ll Do:
- Record invoices, receipts, and payments to suppliers and contractors.
- Assist in preparing account reconciliations and supporting schedules for financial statements.
- Prepare and maintain local legal books as required by Honduras law.
- Prepare tax returns and ensure full compliance with local and international tax regulations.
- Support the management of fixed assets and depreciation tracking.
- Provide accurate information for financial and tax deliverables.
- Assist in gathering documentation for internal and external audits.
- Lead the preparation and review of complex financial statements and ensure they comply with local GAAP and corporate policies.
- Analyze financial data and create detailed variance analyses to support business decision-making.
- Perform advanced reconciliations, including intercompany transactions and multi-currency accounts.
- Develop, implement, and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting systems.
What We Expect From You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accreditation in Honduras.
- Minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience, including complex reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Strong proficiency in Excel or Gsheets, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis.
- Preferably with knowledge of Oracle Netsuite or similar ERP systems.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-currency accounting and intercompany transactions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proactive, independent, and capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in both Spanish and English.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid and cross-functional team environment.
