The Role
The Software Quality Assurance (SQA) plays a key role in ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of the partner products. This is primarily a manual testing role, with responsibilities centered on validating builds, identifying issues, and collaborating with developers and support teams. While test automation is not yet implemented, knowledge of automation frameworks is considered a plus and may provide opportunities for growth as the team evolves.
The role extends to related projects such as remote management (RMM) and VPN software. Test scenarios often involve real-world user workflows, such as productivity (Office applications, Adobe suite, web-based apps), creative tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Krita, ZBrush, etc.), video conferencing (Zoom, Teams, Meet), and more.
This position requires excellent communication skills, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform manual testing across platforms, including alpha, regression, stress, localization, and system testing.
- Reproduce and validate bugs reported by users or the Technical Support team using relevant third-party tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop for creative workflows, Microsoft Office for productivity, Zoom/Teams/Meet for conferencing, and development environments like Xcode or Visual Studio).
- Verify bug fixes and test new features across supported operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and ChromeOS.
- Conduct scenario-based testing that reflects real-world use cases—such as product setups for designers, developers, and remote workers.
- Log and track bugs in Linear, following established SOPs throughout the entire ticket lifecycle.
- Create detailed, accurate test reports that include reproduction steps, observed behaviors, and expected outcomes.
- Perform regular audits of the bug tracking board to ensure data integrity and up-to-date status.
- Collaborate with the Technical Support team to investigate and resolve escalated user issues via the partner CRM systems (Front and Intercom).
- Identify patterns or recurring issues and escalate them appropriately to the development team.
- Participate in continuous feedback loops with engineers to improve product stability, performance, and user experience.
What We Expect From You:
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Systems Engineering or a related field.
- Intermediate technical skills with hands-on experience in manual software testing or QA (internships or academic projects are acceptable).
- Proficiency across major operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and ChromeOS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in the required language(s) for the role.
- Basic knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium) is a plus, though not required or currently in use.
- Ability to clearly document bugs with accurate reproduction steps.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and a problem-solving mindset.
- High attention to detail and consistency in test execution.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and varied communication styles.
- Effective organizational skills to manage multiple test cycles.
- Collaborative, proactive, and goal-oriented when working with cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Get In Return:
- Hybrid working arrangements
- Competitive Base Salary
- Attractive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision options that are applicable per country of residence for all our full-time employees
- Access to free posture-based fitness workouts from home
- Training opportunities provided by Crescendo and outside entities
- 1-on-1 coaching with feedback sessions, mentorship, and opportunities for cross-functional development
